Turning Point USA in Every Texas High School - What a Great Idea!

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick announced a partnership forcing Turning Point USA into all 3,834 high schools across the state. The governor threatened meaningful disciplinary action against any school blocking the right-wing organization founded by Charlie Kirk. Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath met privately with Turning Point USA representatives in early November to expand their presence in state schools.

Four days after that meeting, Dan Patrick committed $1 million in campaign funds to implement the program. The clubs will be called Club America and schools must report to the Texas Education Agency if they attempt to prevent the organization from establishing chapters. Greg Abbott made clear that any school standing in the way should be reported immediately. The initiative gives this political action group direct access to students in every Texas high school.

Tax dollars fund the implementation while campaign donations from Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick provide additional support. Charlie Kirk's organization now has unprecedented reach into public education throughout Texas. The governor expects compliance from all districts and threatens consequences for resistance. This mandate affects nearly four thousand schools and millions of students across the state.
