Thanjavur was earlier known as Tanjore, This is an ancient City with old Heritage temples of Chola period Thanjavaur is also associated with old Tanjore paintings.

Hotel we stayed in Thanjavur - We stayed in Thanjavur at TTDC property Hotel Tamil Nadu which is the Tamil Nadu government undertaking.

My stay at this place was average, I enjoyed my stay more at TTDC - Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari, those were bigger properties with better customer service and better maintenance.

Tariff - Rs 2100 for double occupancy.

Tea near Thanjavur Palace - We had tea near Thanjavur Palace.

Thanjavur Art Gallery - After this we visited the “Thanjore Art Gallery”. We met there Mr. Rajan ji., this place is on backside of Shri Brihadeeswara temple, they sell Thanjavur paintings and also make metal craft and sculptures made out of 5 metals.

Hotel Coffee Palace - After this we headed towards a very old and famous eatery Hotel Coffee Palace and had Idli and filter coffee there. Thought this is a old hotel but their variety is limited.

Dinner at Hotel Coffee Palace( more popular branch) - After this we visited the 2nd branch of Hotel Coffee Palace which was on the main road - Mela V.D Street, and had Rava Masala Dosa.

The Dosa was really amazing, I haven’t had this type of taste experience yet.

After this, we ended our day
