Lynne Chapman: a Life Just Out of Sight

Textile fine artist Lynne Chapman talks candidly about recent projects which explore her relationship with the symptoms of Aphantasia (having no mind’s eye). The film focusses particularly upon Erosion, the 'ruby memory dress' which deals with the severe autobiographical memory-loss often associated with Aphantasia.

The film considers how an obsession with recording her life experience in sketchbooks might relate to her inability to visualise her past and explores a creative journey which has led her to many different collaborative projects with academics, creating artwork through both urban sketching and textiles.
