《New Everlasting Love》is the theme song of the same name as a romantic film released in Hong Kong in 1993. It won six awards, including Best Film, during the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards.

The movie is about a bleak and sad romantic story.
Tracy is a well-known singer, she and Kit are a couple. Kit is a talented but underappreciated saxophone player. Kit decides to leave Tracy because of the disparity between himself and Tracy. He lives alone in a shabby hut lacks self-confidence and is silent all day.

One day, he met A-Min the daughter of a street artist in Temple Street, she dreams of becoming an excellent musician. Although A-Min has suffered from bone cancer since childhood she still faced her life optimistically and cheerfully. Her hopeful attitude towards life infected Kit, which enabled him to regain his lost self-confidence. The two young people Kit and A-Min gradually fell in love with each other. After all the obstacles, they can finally be together. Just when everything seemed to be going well, A-Min's condition deteriorated is getting worse and worse, which made her lose her courage and strength, she became irritable. A-Min was encouraged by Kit, her relatives, and friends they tried to cure her by raising money.

A-Min tells Kit that she wants him to get back with Tracy after she dies because Tracy still loves him. A-Min knows that she doesn't have much time, so she asks Kit to help her buy her favorite cake. A-Min already passed away when Kit came back from buying the cake. Finally, Kit plays this song《New Everlasting Love》with his saxophone which A-min had always wanted him to complete.

The theme song of the film《New Everlasting Love》also adopts the light jazz music genre with saxophone as the main melody; it was a success after the film was released, and it is still one of the favorite songs of saxophone lovers in the Chinese community.
