Ampkit And JamUp Pro - A Comparison

Описание к видео Ampkit And JamUp Pro - A Comparison

This video compares two softwares that accompany iOS guitar interfaces: Ampkit from Agile and JamUp from Positive Grid. Examples are given from both softwares of models inspired by the same real-world guitar equipment.

Although both softwares accompany their own interfaces, they are both designed to work with hardware from other manufacturers; with that in mind, this test was conducted using the iRig from IK Multimedia.

The settings for each model on both softwares were made as identical as possible; the guitar used was the same throughout, and always on the bridge pickup.

The volume levels for all clips were adjusted to be as close as they could be; this was a test of tone rather than output. Ampkit was markedly quieter than JamUp, but the accompanying Ampkit Link interface is battery-powered, so one can assume this would explain the lower output. This also means that Ampkit doesn't go into break-up as quickly as JamUp, and has a lower noise floor.

Watch the video, draw your own conclusions.
