Q: Describe a time that Vendition helped you on the job or in your career transition.

Maximillian Peterson: Vendition helped me right out of school. They were the reason that I actually am where I am today. I thought that I could get an SDR position with a company with really no relative experience within the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sales industry and I was incredibly wrong. But they were the instrumental piece in getting me towards where I wanted to go. They got me the recognition I needed to really be in the position I'm at today. So without Vendition's help, heck, I don't know where I'd be. I don't know where I'd be if I didn't answer that email originally from Mary and I got to work with Leah. So everything happens for a reason. And Vendition was there for me when I was at my lowest.

Q: What made you decide to join Vendition's Sales Apprenticeship?

Maximillian Peterson: I decided to join Vendition's program because I was at a crossroads and I wasn't too sure where I was headed. I knew that I definitely wanted to go down a path of being an SDR slash BDR, but it seemed so far out of reach. I wasn't even thinking of Vendition as an option. Just skeptical for me in my opinion, not something I was looking forward to, but in the end, when I initially got that first email from Mary reaching out, you know, giving me saying, hey, this is our final, our fourth and final time we'll reach out to you. I took the risk because I said, why not? What do I have to lose? And from then on the conversations with Leah were wonderful. The companies she got me in contact with were great and I was lucky enough to end up at BlackLine. And just seeing myself four months, you know, from prior where I am now, it's something incredible to boast myself on. I'm still learning, I'm becoming better. I've got an incredible team to work off of, and I do owe it to Vendition. They really did help me get to the next stage in my life and really what everyone wants to do in this industry was to get my foot in the door. So big kudos to Vendition. Kudos to the staff. Continue to do what you do. The learning, the sales bootcamp, just the overwhelming support is what you really need in order to succeed. It's a very tough job to get into. It's a grind, but Vendition really provides you the skill set you need in order to get where you want to go.

Q: Looking to the future, what most excites you about your career in tech?

Maximillian Peterson: There's really endless amounts of potential to see where I'm headed. Now that I'm in this position, I can see the sky is the limit. I think the end goal for me is definitely a C level position. I've always seen myself as a leader. It's something where I think, you know, I was definitely born out of the cloth of being a leader. I'm learning the skill sets to be definitely a great colleague, a very boosting and beneficial coworker as well and what I'm really able to provide is just an environment where we can all succeed. You can't have something that you see yourself not excelling in or something where, you know, you see yourself hitting a brick wall as I like to look at it. But there's always endless amounts of opportunities and within this software sales industry the sky's the limit and I can see myself continuously excelling into different positions from this day forward.
