Enamorado y convencido como estaba de la música y del folklore andino sudamericano, Raymond Thevenot tuvo que esperar hasta el año 1967 para poder al fin tener una quena o flauta andina de viento, en sus manos. Su pericia y conocimientos previos con la flauta traversa, le permitieron dominar la quena en muy poco tiempo, pero también la zampoña, el pinkillo y el rondador.
Ese mismo año conoció a dos suizos fanáticos como él y en tres semanas trasladó sobre la quena, todo el repertorio andino adquirido con la flauta clásica y ese mismo año, nació el trío “Los Quetzales”. El grupo semiprofesional ganó dos concursos en Francia y Suiza, para finalmente grabar 2 discos LP en Suiza durante los años 1970 y 1971, los que también fueron editados en Francia..
Pero el futuro de Raymond Thevenot era viajar por todo el continente, cuya música y folklore ya lo había hipnotizado profesionalmente y es así como en el año 1972, inicia su viaje que lo llevará finalmente al Perú donde se establece y se casa con una peruana, con quien tuvo dos hijos.
Como productor y conocedor de la quena, fabricó desde el año 1976 un modelo exclusivo y perfeccionado conocido internacionalmente bajo el nombre de “Quena de Concierto Thevenot”, asimismo ha colaborado con la didáctica de la quena peruana, publicando dos libros denominados: Método de la Quena Peruana I y II.

That same year he met two Swiss fans like him and in three weeks moved on the flute, the completely Andean repertoire acquired with classical flute and that same year, the trio “Los Quetzales” was born. The semiprofessional group won two competitions in France and Switzerland, and finally recorded 2 LPs in Switzerland during 1970 and 1971, which were also published in France.
However, the future of Raymond Thevenot was traveling around the continent, whose music and folklore had already hypnotized him professionally and in 1972, he began his journey that ultimately lead him to Peru where he established and married a Peruvian, they had two children.
As a producer and quena expert, he manufactured since 1976 and perfected a unique model internationally known under the name “Thevenot Concert Quena” also has worked with the didactics of the Peruvian quena, publishing two books called: Peruvian Quena Method I and II.
