On June 5th, World Environment Day, Youth Veerangnayen of Chandigarh organized a plastic awareness drive outside Elante Mall to highlight critical environmental and social problems. Volunteers—ranging from homemakers to educators and retirees—encouraged the public to adopt proper waste segregation using blue, green, and black bins. They stressed that tackling social issues of the environment, like plastic pollution, requires both personal responsibility and strong environmental policy. Through open conversations, they promoted environmental education, emphasized the need for environmental conservation, and advocated for reducing plastic at the source. This initiative, rooted in active environmentalism, aimed to inspire sustainable living and responsible choices. Their efforts contributed to raising awareness of the natural environment and addressing broader ecological problems through community action.
