Описание к видео Gear Follows Vision, Ep. 13 – Broadcast vs Cinema – Which Cameras Your Church Really Needs

Churches love the word “cinematic.” Ask five people what it means, and you’ll get six different answers.

In this episode, Deron sits down with John Clark (former production director at Red Rocks Church) to break down how to choose the right camera approach for your church. They unpack the real differences between broadcast and cinema style systems, including frame rate, motion, depth of field, operator style, and why “cinema” is often more about the whole workflow than the camera body.

They also get into the unglamorous realities that actually drive camera decisions: latency, switcher support, lenses that cost more than the camera, and the not so small fact that lighting often matters more than the camera you buy. If your room is deep, your camera positions are far, or your operators are volunteers, those details change the math fast.

By the end, you’ll have a clearer way to ask the right question: are you trying to capture a live event, or tell a story like a film? Because once you answer that, the gear gets a lot easier to pick.
