The Michael Bay Transformers movies (often referred to as The Bayformers by fans) carry a bit of a negative reputation. Transformers, released in 2007, is an American sci-fi action flick inspired by Hasbro's famous toy line. It marks the inaugural entry in the Transformers cinematic universe. Directed by Michael Bay and written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the movie features Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager unwittingly drawn into a conflict between the valiant Autobots and the sinister Decepticons. These alien robots have the remarkable ability to disguise themselves as ordinary machines, especially vehicles. The plot revolves around the Autobots quest to secure the AllSpark, a potent artifact responsible for birthing their robotic civilization, which currently rests on Earth. Their goal is to use it to restore their homeworld, Cybertron, and bring an end to the prolonged war. The Decepticons seek to exploit its power, aiming to fuel their army by animating Earth's machines. The ensemble cast includes Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Anderson, Megan Fox, Rachael Taylor, John Turturro, and Jon Voight. Moreover, Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving lend their voices to the iconic characters Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively.
