The revelations I’ve been receiving through my current interest with wine is pretty heavy. I’ve been meditating on God as I’ve been learning more about wine.

So, just like the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, when it comes to growing grapes, there is the Sun, the Soil, and the water. So, like how the Sun is like a massive ball of energy thats far far away, it’s like God the father who is this power source for everything while being way up on his throne. And the Bible often talks about us being like a seed, so if we are a seed in the soil, which has all of the nutrients stored within it, it’s like the Holy Spirit who is intimately close by. Then there’s water, and Jesus refers to himself as the source of living water, like a channel that allows the life-giving properties of the Father’s energy to be poured upon us. So, in order to get the energy from the Sun, we need water, which unlocks the nutrients from the soil in to the seed. Which is us.

So there are some restaurants that do a type of wine tastings that they call, Wine flights. Wine flights are short pours of wine in different glasses that explore similarities and differences from a variety of places around the world. Rather than traveling to the country and visiting the winemaker to experience their wine, the wine of that place comes to us. France, Argentina, Australia... so it’s like we can catch a flight and go anywhere in the world.

Every year, the grapes grow a little differently because how where the grapes grow, and the unique weather and climate year after year. Also different challenges affect the soil in different ways, contributing to the taste and characteristics of the grapes.

So when we drink wine, our body experiences a specific location, time period, and era.
It’s like when God is referred to be everywhere, all powerful, and all knowing, His characteristics are imprinted in the wine, because we are tapping into an expression of who He is! Because when a bottle of wine is opened, we aren’t just experiencing something old but rather bringing the past into its future to be experienced in our present. It’s like we tap into God’s omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient power.

And when Jesus invites us to drink of “His blood” from the last supper, He invites us to to drink of His wine, so we can be changed forever by experiencing and knowing his place in heaven, infinity, and his limitless potential. Wine is really profound.

Romans 8: 5-8
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
