P.S. Saint Mesrop created the current Armenian alphabet in the 5th century CE. It was influenced by the Greek alphabet. The relation is visible in the broad order of letters and the fact that it is written from left to right. Today Armenian is spoken in two dialects Eastern and Western Armenian. Eastern Armenian is spoken in the Republic of Armenia while Western Armenian is spoken mostly by the Armenian diaspora. The video was recorded in Eastern Armenian. The writing though is the same for Eastern and Western Armenian.
