Oil Pastel Fixative Tutorial with Sennelier d'Artigny Fixative

Описание к видео Oil Pastel Fixative Tutorial with Sennelier d'Artigny Fixative

Oil Pastels contain oils and waxes that never fully dry. This complicates the preservation of your drawings, because they will stay somewhat tacky even after long periods of time. Due to this tackiness your work will collect dust that cannot be removed, or you'll risk smudging your drawings.

That's why it is important to protect your Oil Pastel drawings. But because the work never fully dries normal varnishes are not well suited. Use Oil Pastel Fixatives instead. These Fixatives contain vinyl resins on an alcohol base specifically intended to be applied to Oil Pastel drawings. They leave a glossy transparent film that protects against dust and smudging.

After applying the Fixative to your work, it is still recommended to frame it behind glass.

In this video I demonstrate the proper way to apply Fixative to Oil Pastel drawings. I use Sennelier Oil Pastels and Sennelier's d'Artigny Fixative.
