Samla Seng Khasi - Medley of Seng Khasi Songs

This live performance is a medley of old Seng Khasi songs, some of which had been written during the early 1900’s at a time when Seng Khasi was initially established as an organisation for the preservation of Khasi indigenous faith (Niam Tynrai).

This performance is at an event called “Pashat La Tynrai” - An evening of Folk Music, which was organised by the Seng Samla Seng Khasi on July 19, 2011 at U Soso Tham Auditorium, State Central Library, Shillong. The programme was organized to promote and popularise the cultural heritage of the Khasi Jaintia through traditional music, dance, folk songs, skits, traditional chants and other forms of cultural communication which are indigenous to the people.
