How a Neuro-swing Orthosis Helped Me Walk Again After a Car Accident

Following a car accident a decade ago, Quentin didn’t think he was going to be able to get about again without the use of a wheelchair.

He had surgery in South Korea to have an L3 (lumbar 3) dislocation and fracture. He has four vertebrae mechanically fused together and with very little muscle activity in both legs, he is unable to walk unaided.

Quentin cannot walk without ankle foot orthoses (AFOs) and would otherwise be in a wheelchair. He has been a patient with the London Orthotic Consultancy for several years now, working with Sam and the team to develop various orthoses fit for different daily needs.

The London Orthotic Consultancy (LOC), founded in 2004, is a private clinic that provides bespoke orthotic treatments for a wide range of adult and paediatric conditions.

We have satellite clinics in Central London (Harley Street), Bristol, Cambridge and Romford.
