Описание к видео It's bedtime for our Basjoo Banana! How to put the Hardy Banana (Musa basjoo) to bed for the winter

In this video, Logee's horticulturist and third generation owner, Byron Martin, demonstrates how he puts the Hardy Banana (Musa basjoo) plant to bed for the winter. Also known as the Japanese Banana or Japanese Fibre Banana, the Basjoo Banana is considered the be the most cold hardy banana in the world. This extremely vigorous banana plant grows many feet in a season, and in time, forms large clumps that can reach up to 13' in height. It makes a fine container specimen, and if grown inside, it will tolerate varying conditions of temperature and light with ease. Although it does produce bananas, they are inedible. Simple to grow, give it plenty of water, fertilizer and sunlight. With this Hardy Banana you’ll get a defining tropical look. And with proper mulching, it can withstand temperatures below zero.
