This video shows the frightening state of the current St. Pete Pier (Inverted Pyramid) from under the approach with chunks of concrete literally crumbling into the Bay. The footage comes from City archives taken in June 2013. The narration is from Rodney G. Powers & Associates -- an expert firm hired to assess the condition of the current Pier and feasibility of repairing it. The company specializes in corrosion control for bridges providing technical services related to condition assessment, repair, and corrosion mitigation. In summation, it would cost more to repair the Inverted Pyramid than it would to demolish it and build a brand new pier.
