Описание к видео 1939 Kay Kyser - The Starlit Hour (Ginny Simms, vocal)

The final (1940) edition of the “Earl Carroll’s Vanities” musical revue survived only 25 performances on Broadway. But though it boasted no major name stars, this “Vanities” did feature three songs which would enjoy a measure of popularity: “I Want My Mama (Mama Yo Quiero)” “Angel” and the Mitchell Parish-Peter DeRose ballad “The Starlit Hour,” perhaps best-remembered through the recordings by Ella Fitzgerald (    • 1940 Ella Fitzgerald - Starlit Hour   ) and Glenn Miller (    • 1940 HITS ARCHIVE: Starlit Hour - Gle...   ).

From 78rpm Columbia 35343 - The Starlit Hour (Parish-DeRose by Kay Kyser & his Orchestra, vocal by Ginny Simms, recorded in Los Angeles September 7, 1939 .
