1970 Pontiac LeMans Part 2, To move forward we have to start over!

Описание к видео 1970 Pontiac LeMans Part 2, To move forward we have to start over!

Well after a lot of conversation around the shop about how to best handle the wiring and other various issues discovered on the 1970 Pontiac LeMans we came to a decision. Time to pull it apart! With any class car or project car you always run a risk that things quickly get out of control when it comes to repairs.

Unfortunately in the world of automotive repair you never really know what has been done by other hands, whether that's good or bad. Having discovered a wide range of wiring issues and semi questionable repairs it's time to start fresh, get it apart and get a true understanding of what we have. From the outside, we know under the hood is a 1972 455 block "Big Block", 1976 6X-8 heads, and an Edelbrock intake below a "rebuild" Q-Jet Carb. Aside from that, who knows!

The tear down and discovery begins complete with headache, heartache, and frustration culminating in a trip to Performance Research in Westerville Ohio! Our shop in Plain City is a bedroom community of Columbus Ohio, so a quick jaunt across town is WELL worth the drive!

With plans to run the motor in its current state on their Dyno we will set a baseline to compare repairs and upgrades against, hopefully finding some horsepower, torque, and reliability along the way!
