Author Aaron Badgley returns discussing his new book “Ringo Starr: Solo-Career – Got To Pay Your Dues.” An extremely informative read, Badgley covers all of Ringo’s activities specifically in the 70’s---his recordings, acting career, record company Ring O’ Records, and Ringo’s contributions as a drummer and songwriter for other artists. The author also comments on steps Ringo took that were daring and ahead of their time. This is a thorough examination of Ringo’ successes and failures during this decade, in which he wracked up an impressive list of 7 Top 10 singles in the U.S., 2 Top 10 albums, and the many reasons for his decline in record sales after leaving Capitol/EMI. Badgley also reviews all of his music as someone who’s truly listened to it all. It is not only refreshing to find more books coming out on Ringo’s solo-career, but also one so focused on one time period. Let’s hope Aaron continues to put out more books on Ringo following the 70’s, since he’s had a very active and productive career!
