Luminosity Masks and Blend Ranges are very similar. In this video i will try to explain how they work and when to use them.

In a summary Luminosity Mask is a snapshot of a selection and adjustments with a Luminosity Mask will only affect on this snapshot, while Blend Ranges are dynamic and adjust accordingly based on the layers below.

Both have their use cases but imho Blend Ranges are more useful as they are quicker to work with, especially when experimenting. In a next video i will explain how to create a mask from a Blend Range, as sometimes you want to lock the effect.
