Today, we examine a new project set to start construction in 2026, which aims to build a future F1 circuit in Rio de Janeiro in an effort to bring Formula 1 back to the city. Named the Autódromo Parque de Guaratiba, it features many fast-flowing corners and could rank among the top five fastest circuits if it were to join today's Formula 1 calendar. The project plans for completion by 2029 and will compete with Interlagos to become the venue for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Interlagos’s contract with F1 ends after 2030, so if Rio wants to replace Interlagos rather than add a second race in Brazil, it will have to wait quite some time. Enjoy!
