A Curtain Call for Mansour Orange: The Last-Ever McLaren F1 Heads to Public Sale

The collecting world is alight.

A portfolio hailed as 'the greatest private McLaren stable ever assembled' has been officially listed for sale by the esteemed British specialist, Tom Hartley Jnr.

It’s a stable of 20 McLarens, and not one of them is ordinary. The crown jewel among them is the final production McLaren F1 ever built.

More legendary still is the identity of their owner: none other than the titan who masterminded McLaren's transformation from a racing team into a hypercar powerhouse, Mansour Ojjeh.

If you follow McLaren, the name is scripture. He joined forces with the marque in 1984, forging alongside Ron Dennis the empire we know today: a fusion of Formula 1 dominance and dream-car manufacturing.

Ojjeh passed away in 2021, and this collection stands as a testament to the automotive dynasty he helped build. Its completeness and systematic curation rival that of any top-tier museum.

But the true centrepiece is the fabled F1. Of the 106 built, this is the very last. It wears a bespoke shade of 'Mansour Orange', a colour McLaren later reserved exclusively for him.

What's more, the collection is almost entirely composed of 'last-of-the-line' examples: the Sabre, Speedtail, Senna, Elva, P1, P1 GTR... It even includes iterations of the LM and LT models. As any connoisseur knows, this isn't merely car buying. This is a statement of ultimate achievement in the art of collecting.

And these motor cars have barely been driven. The F1's odometer reads just over 1,800 kilometres, while the P1 GTR has only seen a handful of official track days. The rest are in pristine, effectively brand-new condition. Even the bare-carbon Senna, with its audacious yellow and green livery, represents one of the most challenging bespoke commissions of its era.

In fact, Ojjeh was initially a devout Ferrari collector. But after helping to establish McLaren Automotive, he sold his entire stable of Prancing Horses, pledging his sole allegiance to McLaren and pouring his life's work into the marque. This collection is the evidence of him going "all in."

It is no exaggeration to say that, outside of McLaren's own heritage vaults, this is the most complete, highest-spec, and most storied assembly of McLarens ever to appear on the open market.

The only real question is: who could possibly resist?
