I used to think that being a submissive wife meant that I had to be weak. I was certain it meant that I was expected to give in and do whatever the man of the house asked of me. The word ‘Submissive’ offended me. In fact the first thought that popped in to my head was the scene from ‘Coming To America ‘of the woman hopping on one foot repeatedly saying “👏🏽What-ever You like”.😂
Being raised in a single parent household by a beautiful,strong #melanated queen; I’d never had a man tell me what to do and at 24 years old I wasn’t about to start. 🙅🏽‍♀️.
Over the decade that my husband and I have been together I've learned that being a submissive wife isn't about being walked all over; like a doormat. But that I should be quite the opposite. "Being a wife means being your husband’s rock of support when everything around him feels like it’s crashing down. When you grasp what it means to be a support, you begin to get an image of your role as being more like a rock than a doormat. ".
