Important Meeting on Border Security Chaired by IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Joint Strategy & Use of Modern Technology Emphasized
Under the leadership of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, a high-level meeting was held today to review border security in the districts of Lakki Marwat and Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the adjacent districts of Sargodha and Mianwali in Punjab. The IGP also visited police check posts at Darra Tang and the Punjab border, where key decisions were made regarding peace and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by DIG Jawad Qamar, regional police officers including Abbas Majid Marwat (Kohat), Sajjad Khan (Bannu), Muhammad Asif Shehzad Khan (Sargodha), and DPOs of Mianwali, Karak, and Lakki Marwat, along with officers from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

DPOs Jawad Ishaq (Lakki Marwat), Shehbaz Elahi (Karak), and Rai Muhammad Ajmal (Mianwali) briefed the IGP on the current border security situation and other related matters in their respective districts.

The meeting deliberated on the presence and movements of Khawarij (militants) in the border and surrounding areas, and explored proposals for enhanced mutual cooperation in security operations.

On this occasion, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed emphasized the importance of coordination and intelligence sharing between the police and security forces of both provinces. He stressed the need for close contact and collaboration to eradicate extremist elements of Khawarij in the region. He also directed the formation of special teams to deal with these threats effectively.

The IGP highlighted the need for a robust and comprehensive joint plan to address border security challenges and respond promptly to any emergency. He instructed the use of modern technology for surveillance, such as drones, and intelligence-based technological tools that can yield better results in less time and with fewer resources.

Reaffirming his commitment, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed stated that no sacrifice will be spared to ensure lasting peace and security across every corner of the country.
