Описание к видео How To Cook Papeda (Staple Dish From Maluku Islands)

In this video I will show you how to cook papeda, a dish that can be found in the eastern islands of Indonesa like Maluku and Papua. Papeda is traditionally cooked with sago flour. In case sago flour is not available in your area, you can use alternatives like potato flour as well.

Ingredients:
5 shallots
5/6 garlic cloves
Ginger, around 2cm thick
Lemon grass
Turmeric
Tomato
Basel leaves
3 lime
Sago flour (potato flour works as well)
Fish (any salt water fish should be fine)

Broth:
1. Blend shallots, garlic cloves and ginger
2. Chili can be added if you don't have to worry about children
3. Heat up a pan with olive oil
3. Add the paste together with lemon grass and cook until dry
4. Add water
5. Add fish
6. Slice up tomatoes and add it to the broth together with Basel leaves
7. Squeeze some limes (I used 3)

Papeda:
1. Throw some sago flour in a bowl
2. Pour room temperature water and mix until its a smooth like texture
3. Pour boiling water into the bowl into you get a thick slimy texture

Serve the papeda with the fish broth and slurp!
