Hey Everyone,

Here is the forth video from my drum cover series I did with Circle Up Sessions/ Dudley Merriam . The forth song is “Doghouse Rights” By Clay Davidson.

When I first started playing country in NC in 2000 the artist I was playing for had a song in the set called “I Can’t Lie to Me”. I instantly fell in love with the artist’s voice when I heard the track. That artist was Clay Davidson. A native
from Saltville, Virginia. The band leader of the artist I played for is a killer and versatile guitar player named Curtis Church. He said if I liked that song I really need to check out the B Side of the single called “Doghouse Rights”. I connected with the song right away and loved the feel of the song. Later on I found out the drummer on the track was the groove master Greg Morrow. That started my love and appreciation of Greg’s groove, feel and perfect drum parts. This is the only album that Clay released sadly. I wish he put out more. An amazing voice and talent.

So like I said, in the first post, these cover videos are inspired by the Drumeo Videos. I didn’t go back and review the songs and did the one take to the best of my memory of the song. These are meant as a tribute to the artist/band/drummer and the memory of my days, as a kid playing in my bedroom, along to records, and the countless inspiration that they gave me. These videos are definitely not note for note just having fun.

So thank you Clay and Greg for the inspiration!!
