Dreampop Hidden Gems | Orange

Описание к видео Dreampop Hidden Gems | Orange

With influences from Cocteau Twins and Harold Budd, to the Cranes and Virgina Astley, Orange would definitely find a home in the hearts of any fans of lilting and blissful music. Vocalist Sonya Waters has one of those incredible voices that can either belt out heavenly lyrics that might be English words or can sebd shivers down your back while you sit enraptured. "a georgeous gossamer of a debut album" - Alternative Press

Orange has roots in New Zealand (Sonya's original home) and San Francisco, where a much different version of the band recorded about a dozen songs, one of which caught the attention of C'est La Mort Records. "Fallen Buildings" was included on the CLM compilation Hearts Lust In Limbo. An obscure 7" single also surfaced before this lineup dissolved. Reforming with many changes, Orange had three recording sessions spanning 1990-1993. "Ecco" is taken from the first of these, while the album covers most of the later two. One track from each remains unreleased at present. One will be included on Splashed With Many A Speck, a double CD compilation from Dewdrops due out in Spring 1997. Sadly, Orange fell apart as their debut album was being released, and Sonya now resides in New Zealand once more.
