Years pass and Abram and Sarai are still childless.

Despite God’s promise, doubt begins to grow. Sarai takes matters into her own hands and urges Abram to have a child with her servant, Hagar. When Hagar becomes pregnant, tension explodes in the camp.

Sarai feels humiliated and jealous, and treats Hagar harshly. Hagar flees into the desert, pregnant and alone — but she is not forgotten. An angel of the Lord appears by a spring of water and comforts her, promising that her son, Ishmael, will become a great nation. Hagar gives God a new name: "You are the God who sees me."

This episode explores the consequences of impatience, the pain of jealousy, and God’s grace even in broken situations.
