Every evening Rohan leaves home in Rayasandra with a bag full of hot vada pavs cooked fresh and packed with care by his Mom, Mrs. Hema Birajdar, for a street corner in HSR Layout, South Bengaluru, where he stands patiently for four hours to sell his wares. Not your typical-sized batata (potato) vada, these are humungous therefore deserving of its moniker XXL vada pav. I visited him on a drizzly evening recently to taste a simple but tasty vadapav, which prompted a visit to his home to meet his mother and find out more about his heartening ‘Mom & Son’ enterprise. An incentive when you visit them, you can taste their food piping hot, and also a very special masala vada pav that will surely have me revisiting them more than once.
