Czech special envoy to visit S. Korea next week to discuss Dukovany power plant, industrial cooperation

A special envoy of the Czech Prime Minister is reportedly set to visit South Korea next week.
That's according to local media on Wednesday citing government sources with the two countries finalizing the contract for the construction of two new nuclear reactors at the Dukovany power plant.
Last month, a South Korean Consortium led by Korea Hydrogen and Nuclear Power became the preferred bidder for the project worth 24 trillion Korean Won or 18 billion U.S. dollars.
The two countries also have been expanding industrial cooperation.
This visit comes as U.S. nuclear power company Westinghouse and French EDF have appealed the Czech Republic's decision.
Westinghouse claims K-H-N-P does not own the technology to build the plants, while EDF complained about the transparency of the bidding process.
The special envoy is expected to discuss the appeals during the visit.
