On this day, we had the choice to fly a GPS, VOR or - on our own request - a visual approach. We arrived from the north. Due to several approaching and departing planes infront of us, we crossed the shore near Monaco in more than 10000 feet (3000 meters). Then we continued over the Mediterranean Sea to the south. After a while we got some headings back to the city and the clearance for a visual approach. For traffic seperation, the descent in the visual approach was only approved in several steps.

For noise abatement purposes, we had to keep some defined minimum distance to Cape Antibes during the approach.

Nice airport consists of 2 parallel runways. Usually runway 04L is used for landings and runway 04R for takeoffs.
