Fall prevention remains one of the most challenging patient safety initiatives in any healthcare setting. Factors such as patients’ complex diagnoses and conditions, often non-adherent behaviors, and inconsistencies with application of fall prevention tactics can predispose a patient to fall. Notwithstanding the risk for patient injury or death, a fall with injury is costly. In this session, we will learn more about a community hospital’s journey to reducing their falls by almost 50 percent.
