The 29th African Union's summit is underway in Addis Ababa. Preparations are currently underway for the gathering of Foreign Ministers from member states under the AU executive council. The Foreign Ministers are due to deliberate on agenda items to be presented to AU heads of states and governments who will convene for their summit over the weekend. Unrest in South Sudan, Mali, Libya, Somalia and the Central African Republic, matters of peace, security and migration on the continent are expected to dominate the summits agenda. Leaders are expected to also discuss implementing reforms within the continental body. This year the AU summit is under the theme "Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investments in the Youth". Many are expecting concrete decisions that will empower the youth of the continent.
