Aldebaran Resources Inc. is a junior exploration company that was formed in 2018, due to the company being spun out from Regulus Resources Inc. The company’s asset portfolio includes its Altar copper-gold project as well as its Rio Grande copper-gold project. The Altar project hosts a cluster of copper-gold porphyry systems and also hosts silver and molybdenum. The project is located within the San Juan Province of Argentina, approximately 10 km from the Chile-Argentina border and approximately 180 km from the city of San Juan. The project is a joint venture between the company and Sibanye-Stillwater, with Aldebaran Resources Inc. having the option to earn an 80% interest in the project. The earn-in agreement entails the company spending USD$ 45 million in total over a full period of 8 years. The first 5 years and USD$ 30 million spent will earn the company a 60% interest, with the remaining USD$ 25 million spent adding 20% over 3 years. The Rio Grande copper-gold project of the company is located in Salta Province, Argentina and is 100%-owned. The project is a result of the company’s spin-out from Regulus Resources Inc.
The company announced on the 30th of March 2023, that its largest shareholder, Route One Investment Company LLC, as well as its senior management team, have agreed to an early exercise of 4.7 million common share purchase warrants. The exercising of the warrants will lead to the gross proceeds of CAD$ 3.3 million towards the company. Aldebaran Resources Inc. also announced that it had added a 4th drill rig to its drilling program at the Altar Copper-Gold project, which is aimed at expanding the mineralisation of the project.
