Onboard Drives: 2015 Toyota Prius C

I recently joined Communauto which is a car sharing app, and this was one of their cars and was also my inaugural trip with them. Was more of a test trip and also a way for me to get used to their system so that when I really do need to use it, I’ll know how it works. You find a car on the app, you tap your OPUS card that’s tied in with your account on the windshield card reader and it unlocks the doors. Key is found in the glovebox. You start your trip on the app and off you go. Now for the car itself, I went in with low expectations because it is a Prius after all, and a hard used one to boot. However, I was actually impressed with it. Was comfortable to drive, handled just fine for city driving, fuel efficient too. I was thinking to myself I could see myself driving one of these for taxi or Uber, could drive it all day. It has an oddly shaped steering wheel which is fine until you go to park and have to crank full lock and your hands almost miss gripping the wheel. You get used to it I’m sure but it’s weird at first.
