Repairing the 500 year old oak floor beam

Описание к видео Repairing the 500 year old oak floor beam

This is the story of how a very tired looking, broken timber was given a new lease of life. Many thanks to the Rick Lewis of Traditional Oak Carpentry who undertook the extensive repairs, to structural engineer Stuart Armitage who drew up the plans for repair, and to the Alfred Williams Charitable Trust and Radcliffe Trust who funded the repairs, the kiln dried oak and the making of this little video. OBee CIC hope it illustrates that even though heritage timbers may look manky and past it on the outside, they are well worth going that extra mile to preserve, repair and reinstate.
