Kolkata Rape-Murder: CBI Arrests RG Kar Hospital's Ex-Principal, Police Officer |#SafetyIsHerRight

New arrests have been made in the August 9 rape and murder case of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested former principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh, and officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station, Abhijit Mondal, have been arrested for allegedly destroying evidence and misleading investigators. Mondal is also accused of delaying the filing of the FIR after the incident. Meanwhile, Ghosh was previously arrested on September 2 for financial irregularities in the college and is in solitary confinement. Protests by doctors have escalated, leading to a suspended meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She has publicly apologised and offered to step down following the incident.
