President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni had an important meeting with Mama Maria Nyerere, the former First Lady of Tanzania, at State Lodge-Nakasero.

They discussed various matters of mutual interest, including the annual Nyerere Beatification Prayer Day held at Namugongo Catholic Shrine on 1st June.

Mama Maria Nyerere, a passionate advocate for beatification, attends this event every year to seek the intercession of the Ugandan Martyrs who were canonized as saints by the Catholic Church in 1964.
