There is a housing affordability CRISIS in Sandpoint and the government is trying to help with a solution.

They first rolled out the 50-year mortgage which I dont think moves the needle enough and is barley better than renting.

Now there are serious talks about a portable mortgage. Canada has this, its been tested, tried and maybe proven... I dont have enough info to say one way or the other.

I see probelms with the portable mortgage. First it doesnt help people buy a home who doesnt own one already, and the logistics to put this together will take time.

but at least the government is trying to help solve this issue.
