Do you love writing? Have you ever wondered if penning down your thoughts is God’s plan for you?

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” These prevalent words from the Bible are frequently seen on social media, greetings and inspirational posters. It is easy to understand why; it’s a heartwarming message to know that God has a plan for each of us.

Disappointment, sadness and discouragement are inevitable when our plans fail. At times we even lose hope and feel helpless.

One persistent writer also experienced such a setback in her writing career. Terrific with pen and paper at imparting her feelings and knowledge, she grabbed every opportunity that came her way to showcase and have her books published, in the hope that many would read them. The problem was that she failed.

Most publishing houses only accept write-ups through a literary agent, which she doesn’t have. She felt very frustrated. Sometimes it is difficult to see God’s plan.

Then she remembered the Bible verse in Jeremiah 29:11 which says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

She prayed fervently, without ceasing, that she would see her books in the hands of others. She persistently refused to give in, following-up all her applications until God answered her prayer. The Lord found her a publishing house that finally agreed to publish her writings. God turned her two years of failure into an epic writing opportunity.
