Lumix S5 vs Sony A7siii Low light STRESS TEST

Описание к видео Lumix S5 vs Sony A7siii Low light STRESS TEST

After seeing a lot of reviews saying that the Lumix S5 was "basically as good as the Sony A7siii in low light" and suggesting that Sony was "no longer the low light king", I wanted to do a real test, because for some reason nobody has actually done one. Don't get me wrong, I love the S5, but the one thing that seems to let me down is the low light performance.
About my work: I do a LOT of work in dark events where I can't control the lighting -music festivals etc. I also need to shoot mainly at 50fps in these events.

About the test: I know that 12,800 is native ISO on the Sony and not on the Lumix. What I'm trying to do here is see which camera allows me to best shoot scenes this dark. For comparison, I have included one shot at 4000 ISO on the Lumix with the exposure brought up. People also say that you shouldn't shoot VLOG in low light on the Lumix, so I included one shot in the FLAT profile, which is less noisy, sure, but I personally think the look is really bad. Lenses: Tamron 28-75 f2.8 on the Sony, Sigma 18-35 f1.8 on the Lumix, both at f2.8. The Sony has been zoomed and cropped a little to match up with the Lumix crop in 50fps. Youtube actually smooths out a lot of the noise so some of it is lost after the upload.

Conclusions: The A7siii is of course a much more expensive camera than the S5, and I actually think the S5 (or S5ii) is a much nicer camera to use (better stabilisation, shooting formats, info display over HDMI) but for my work specifically, the low light performance is worth the sacrifice.
