So when we do an ultrasound of the abdomen and also the breast or the sonomamography, or the ovaries you find multiple cysts, which results in increase in the size of the ovaries also. Sometimes we see fibrocystic changes of the breast also, maybe due to the hormonal imbalance. In Ayurveda, we classify this as kaphapittajaphikaara. So we see the pachkraams, especially the vamana gives extremely good results. Sometimes a good vamana, followed by virechana, followed by some herbal preparations like shivagutika, all these helps in this condition the duration of the treatment depends entirely on the hormonal imbalance or the presentation that the patient produces. Treated for about 3 to5 months most of the people come out of this problems the main effect of PCOD which is secondary to fertility can be solved by treating in this manner.
