Dr. Dellaero is a graduate of Duke University. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his orthopedic surgery training at Duke University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Dellaero has completed additional fellowship training and research in sports medicine/arthroscopy as well as knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery at the world-renowned Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation. He also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine*. Fewer than 600 surgeons in the country have a sports medicine CAQ.

Dr. Dellaero is also a team physician for the Durham Bulls Baseball Team.

He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been practicing since 1997.

Dr. Dellaero has a broad range of knowledge of orthopedic problems, with particular inter­est and expertise in the arthroscopic treatment of bone and joint diseases and in surgery of the knee and shoulder.
