Julia Goes Into Labor
The episode opens with Julia waking in a soaked bed — her water has broken. She steps outside, reassures her unborn child, and finds Brian. He quickly realizes the baby is coming and calls for the midwife. Julia insists that Henry, not Lovat, is the father — admitting she only gave in to Lovat out of fear. For once, Brian believes her.

Henry’s Search & Arch’s Deception
Meanwhile, Henry is still searching desperately. Arch intercepts him, annoyed at first, but softens when Henry admits he’s looking for his pregnant wife. Arch shares that he and his wife once lost a child, and even promises to help Henry find Julia. But behind the kindness lies betrayal — Arch is plotting against him.
Henry later questions a midwife, only to hear the devastating lie that Julia and her baby have died. He doesn’t realize Arch and Lovat paid her off.

Davina & Lovat’s Shadow
At Castle Leathers, Davina tends to Lord Lovat and relives the years of abuse she endured. Lovat insists Julia’s baby must be legitimized at the kirk, while Davina argues she’s too far along to travel. The tension between them is chilling — manipulation and cruelty bound up in every word.

The Women Turn Against Julia
Julia is placed into confinement, surrounded by gossipers and the howdie. At first, they act helpful — but soon their “support” becomes cruel judgment. Prophecies, morality, and Davina’s accusation that Julia is a seductress ignite the room. As Julia goes into labor, the women shame her mercilessly, claiming she must repent.

Brian vs. Lovat
Outside, Lovat prepares a forced marriage to legitimize the baby. When he strikes Davina, Brian finally snaps — defending his mother and Julia, and lunging at his father. For the first time, he shows real strength against Lovat’s cruelty.
