Trinidad sugar cane and cocoa production.

Farmer leads a bullock cart laden with sugar cane. Workers cut the sugar cane by hand. Carts queue at the sugar cane refinery to deliver their loads. Water buffalo herded along the road.
A cocoa plantation. Men cut down the pods using long poles to reach the high up fruit. Women collect the fallen pods in baskets. The Cadbury Estate, the manager on horseback gives instructions on the harvest. Pods are piled up for collection. The Manager inspects a fruit. Women sit on the ground cutting open the pods to gather the soft inner fruit. Empty pods are piled up for future use as fertiliser and covered in banana leaves to compost. Women empty baskets of the soft fruit. Panniers are filled with the beans and transported by mules for processing. Sign, Cadburys Cocoa Estate. Panniers are emptied into large wooden storage vats until mature. The beans are dried and raked on long wooden platforms. Dried cocoa beans are examined close up. Beans are shovelled into hessian sacks for export. Full sacks are stacked, Cadbury’s logo on bags. Shovelling of beans continues.
