In the first half of this video, I discussed why the global gap or inequality between different regions of the world significantly grew in the 19th century. I especially focused on the impacts of deindustrialization of India by Great Britain, Opium War between Great War and China, and the frenzy of colonization of Africa by Western powers. In the second half of the video, I tackled the question of why the global gap reproduced itself after the era of decolonization. Here, I examined the key responses to that question by the Dependency Theory and specifically by Andre Gunder Frank.
