In this clip, Reggie Wright Jr. started off asking former Compton Police Dept. officer Bobby Ladd about the Mexican gangs he dealt with as an officer. Ladd started off speaking about the Compton Varrio Setentas, who were at war with several sets of Crips known as “ATF,” Acacia, Town, and Farms. Ladd then explained that he had to tell a back story that starts after the 1992 riots in Los Angeles following the beating of Rodney King. Ladd pointed out that two officers were killed around that time, and he added that things continued to get worse in 1993 when the Mexican mafia put out an order to take over the territories of the Black gangs in Compton. Ladd then shares a story about a violent incident between the gangs, which he investigated, and they found the van of the suspected gang members. Inside the van, they found one man, who Ladd said they got to cooperate, and who also told the entire story. He revealed how Mexican gang members killed two ATF members in retaliation for a killing during a robbery earlier that day. Reggie Wright Sr. then spoke about how he remembers the Mexican and Black gang members getting along until the Mexican mafia made the order to take over the streets changed everything. When asked about how many shootings happened between the crews, Ladd estimated that they investigated around 3-4 murders and 15 shootings at the time.
