The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde Book Review

Описание к видео The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde Book Review

My review of Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray". This 1891 novel delves into the human psyche, morality, and the corrupting influence of aesthetic pursuits. The novel challenged Victorian sensibilities and sparked both admiration and outrage among critics of the time.

Dorian Gray is a young man whose portrait ages and decays while he remains untouched by time or sin. He is influenced by Lord Henry Wotton into a life of hedonism and immorality which Wilde uses to showcase the hypocricy of his time.

The book would gain further notoriety when it was used as evidence in Wilde's 1895 criminal trials. As such, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" remains relevant a century after it was written.
