Before pulling the patches on a recent performance patch, I decided to film it in my little studio. I'm sequencing/randomizing the video clips using the modular via a CV-Midi convertor module. The control voltage and gates from the modular are converted into midi notes and those midi notes trigger certain clips in an app I created in Max called 64Videofingers. The main module I use to control the video sequencing is the Teletype created by Monome. The device with all the buttons on the shelf in front of the modular is my sort of makeshift Teletype controller. I use it to send keyboard commands to the Teletype to randomize the clips, define which range of clips I'm randomizing, sequence length, re-trigger and sequence switching. I also use an assortment of trigger source modules to trigger the clips, which I can switch on the fly. Outside of the sounds from the video clips I'm also adding synth bass lines, melody lines, sample and hold melodies, etc. The Digitakt provides the beat as well as the master clock.
